Buffers and pH control.
Since fish and other invertebrates are native to different regions throughout the world, the water parameters they thrive in also vary. Buffers and pH control products help to pinpoint and maintain proper pH levels for almost any aquarium setting.
Alkalinity, dKH and carbonate hardness are all synonymous with buffering capacity. Buffering capacity is the measure of water alkalinity and helps prevent sudden changes in pH. This should be the first water paramiter to monitor before adjusting pH, pH is the ammount of Hydrogen and Hydroxide dissolved in the water. It is measured on a 14 point scale, where 1 is the most acidic and 14 is the most basic (alkaline). Aquariums have natural fluctuating pH patterns that are usually lower in the evening and early morning than during the day.
It is important to determine the optimal pH level for the desired aquatic environment incorrect levels can cause stress to the aquatic life, if left unchecked biological compounds and overall aquarium health can become toxic.
Kent Pro Buffer dKH is an easy to use liquid formula that raises alkalinity and automatically controls pH in any marine aquarium. Formulated to adjust the pH of saltwater aquariums between 8.0 and 8.3.
Pro Buffer dKH comes in a 236ml bottle.
