This set contains two replacement filter media pouches for then Rena NEXX external filter. The dual-action Prevent Algae cartridge not only mechanically filters the water, but alsohelps prevent blooms of algae by removing phosphates and silicates. In an established aquarium the filters will need replacing around every two months or when testing shows levels of phsphate or silicate to be present in the water.
